I've come to realise that looking after my hair is less about using lots of products and more about choosing the right ones. Some days I need a treatment for damaged lengths; on others, I simply want a shampoo and conditioner that leave my hair feeling clean, soft and manageable.
These three products each have a different place in my routine.
Olaplex No. 3 Hair Perfector
When my hair has been through frequent heat styling or colouring, Olaplex No. 3 Hair Perfector is the kind of treatment I turn to for more intensive care. Unlike an ordinary conditioner, this pre-shampoo treatment is formulated with bond-building technology to help strengthen damaged hair and reduce breakage. Its creamy texture is easy to distribute through damp hair, particularly the mid-lengths and ends. I leave it on for at least ten minutes before rinsing it out and following with shampoo and conditioner. What appeals to me most is that it adds a targeted treatment to my routine without requiring a complicated application process. I wouldn't expect it to replace a moisturising mask, but it's particularly useful when my hair feels fragile after colouring or excessive styling.
Davines OI Shampoo
For everyday washing, Davines OI Shampoo brings a more luxurious touch to my routine. Formulated with roucou oil, it's designed to cleanse while leaving hair feeling softer and looking shinier. I particularly appreciate shampoos that remove everyday build-up without leaving my lengths feeling rough, and this is the kind of formula I'd choose when I want a polished finish rather than an intensive scalp treatment. Its creamy consistency makes washing feel more indulgent, while the distinctive fragrance adds a salon-like element to the experience. I would concentrate the shampoo on my scalp, gently massage it through and allow the lather to cleanse the lengths as I rinse. For me, its appeal lies in combining a straightforward cleansing step with an emphasis on softness and shine.
Hadat Hydro Nutrient Nourishing Conditioner
The final step in my routine is Hadat Hydro Nutrient Nourishing Conditioner, which is designed to provide additional nourishment and improve the manageability of dry or demanding lengths. After shampooing, I prefer a conditioner that makes detangling easier without leaving an unnecessarily heavy coating on my hair. This is where a nourishing formula becomes particularly appealing, especially when the ends feel dry or need extra attention. I'd apply it from the mid-lengths downwards, concentrating on the areas most prone to tangling, before rinsing thoroughly. The large pump bottle is also a practical detail: it makes dispensing the product convenient in the shower and suits a regular haircare routine. I would pair it with a shampoo such as Davines OI when my main goal is softer, smoother-looking hair.

These three products serve different purposes, which is why they can work together rather than compete for a place in my bathroom. I'd choose Olaplex No. 3 for targeted care when my hair has been damaged, Davines OI Shampoo for a cleansing routine focused on softness and shine, and Hadat Hydro Nutrient Conditioner when my lengths need extra nourishment and easier detangling.
