Two Milky Skin Favourites

Milky skincare has become one of my favourite ways to add hydration without relying on a heavy cream.
These two formulas feel quite different on the skin, but both fit beautifully into routines built around comfort and barrier support.

Beauty Of Joseon Glow Replenishing Rice Milk

Beauty of Joseon Glow Replenishing Rice Milk — 100/10. This is the one I reach for when I want my skin to look noticeably fresher and more luminous without adding a thick layer of product. The milky texture feels light and fluid, spreading easily across the face and leaving behind a soft, hydrated finish rather than anything greasy. I especially enjoy it when my complexion looks a little dull or dehydrated, because it gives the skin that smoother, more rested appearance that works just as well under makeup as it does in an evening routine. Despite the creamy look of the formula, it never feels overly rich, which makes it easy to layer with serums and moisturiser.

Haruharu Wonder Black Rice Probiotics Barrier Essence

Haruharu Wonder Black Rice Probiotics Barrier Essence — 9/10. Compared with the Beauty of Joseon formula, this feels more like a concentrated barrier-care step than a traditional watery toner. The texture has more body and gives the skin a cushioned, comforted feeling, which is exactly what I want when my face feels dry, tight or slightly stressed. I tend to use it on days when hydration alone does not feel quite enough and I want something that makes my routine feel more nourishing without moving into heavy-cream territory. It layers nicely in a simple routine and leaves my skin feeling softer and less fragile.
For a lighter, glow-focused step, I would choose Beauty of Joseon, while Haruharu Wonder makes more sense when my skin needs extra comfort and a richer barrier-focused layer. Both work well in a hydrating routine, but I would pick between them depending on whether I want freshness and luminosity or a more cocooning feel.
